BLS for New and Expired Providers

This class is for first time BLS students or for students whose BLS card has expired. This course is for healthcare providers caring for patients both in and out of the hospital setting. 

 

The cost of this course is $50 unless you are a MDI Hospital employee.  Payment can be cash or check made payable to MDI Hospital and paid day of class.

BLS Renewal for Providers

The AHA’s BLS Provider Course reflects science and education from the 2020 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.

In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

 

This class is for students who have a current AHA BLS card.

 

You will be required to show your current AHA BLS card at the beginning of class.

 

The cost of this course is $50 unless you are a MDI Hospital employee.  Payment to due, cash or check made payable to MDI Hospital, on the day of class.

BLS/ACLS Two Day Provider Course

ACLS is an advanced, Instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. This course is for the new or expired healthcare provider caring for patients in and out of the hospital setting. 

This is a 2 day ACLS Provider Course.

The cost of this course is $175 unless you are a MDI Hospital employee. Payment can be cash or check made payable to MDI Hospital and please bring the day of class.

BLS/ACLS One Day Update

PALS Two Day Provider Course

The AHA’s PALS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. This classroom, Instructor-led course uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.       

 This is a 2 day PALS Provider Course.

The cost of this course is $175.00 unless you are a MDI Hospital employee. Payment can be cash or check made payable to MDI Hospital and please bring the day of class.

Heartsaver First Aid with CPR & AED

The AHA's Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course is a classroom, Instructor-led course designed to prepare students to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) use in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

Upon successful completion of the course, including a first aid skills demonstration and a CPR and AED skills test, students receive a Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course completion card, valid for two years.

Payment is not due till the day of class.  The training center can only accept cash or a check made out to Mount Desert Island Hospital. The instructor will collect payment prior to the class starting and is able to give a receipt for payment when requested. 

Safe Sitter

Designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.

The Instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use mannequins to practice rescue skills like choking rescue and CPR!

ENPC

This is a 16 hourr class to prepare students to care for children in an emergency setting. This is an ENA course, needs to be renewed every 4 years. The cast is $300 if you are an ENA member.Please reach out to Jean Young at 207-664-8456 if you have any questions.

NRP 8th edition Provider Course
TNCC

TNCC is a 16 hour ENA program to learn skills necessary to treat a Trauma patient. This class needs to be renewed every 4 years per ENA. If you ae an ENA member, the course is $300.00. Please readh out to Jean Young with any questions. 207-664-8456
